Light of the Sun
Mukti is an ensemble of accomplished musicians whose spicy blend of Indian rhythms, flamenco guitar, harmonium, piano, and r&b-flavored vocals are breathing new life into the world of kirtan. Representing years of collective spiritual practice and close relationship with their teachers, they share the depth of their love and devotion through music. In concert, they frequently invite distinguished guest musicians from varied spiritual traditions to join the ensemble, and the songs take a spontaneous and uncharted journey through rocking, ecstatic highs into soulful, sublime spaces that lead effortlessly into deep meditation.

Bio
A seamless blend of classical Indian, flamenco, and western pop lends a distinctive spice to the devotional music of ancient India known as "kirtan" or "bhajan." Infused with devotion and spiritual longing, the music of "Mukti" (a Sanskrit word which means "liberation") is uplifting, inspiring and danceable; yet ultimately calls the heart into a deep silence and stillness.
Mukti is proud to announce the release of their debut cd, "Light of the Sun," in Sept. 2009.
